Long Stemmed Goblets made from Pau Rosa & Holly, and Spalted Sycamore & Holly, both are 12″ tall. Both were a challenge to turn due to the thickness of the stem. I will be demonstrating how to make these at the North Highland Woodturners Club in Thurso in September, further details to follow.
Just a couple of pieces of new work just recently turned.
This is a Flamed Beech Platter, the wood was locally sourced from the Ullapool Woodturning Centre
And then a coloured Sycamore tall bowl which has been textured with the Sorby Spiralling System, then coloured with Black Spirit stains and then gold gilt cream added to the texturing. the lower photograph is a close up of the texturing which is in 3 distinctive bands.
