A new medium and technique used on this Bowl. Made from Birch, with Gesso added as the medium which is textured and then blue acrylic paint added and sanded back slightly to bring the gesso through as highlights.
Another one the series of Airbrushing techniques this time the colouring was inspired by a Maple Tree just outside our house in its autumnal colours. Using Yellow/Green, then Orange and Red Molotow Aqua Inks and then sealed, and lacquered to finish.
In my endeavour to improve my Airbrushing techniques i created this Sycamore Bowl, again inspired by Nick Agar`s Viking Sunset Bowl. This the paints used were Molotow Aqua Inks which are child friendly paints. Textured with the Robert Sorby Micro texturing tool.
The start of a new series of work, this one inspired by Nick Agar`s Viking Sunset Bowl. Made from Sycamore, textured with the Sorby Spiralling system, coloured with Black, Yellow and Red Spirit stains which are airbrushed onto the timber, then silver gilt cream added to give it the metallic look.
